What is it about reptiles that captures our imagination? Do they evoke thoughts of hot deserts, trackless jungles or stark volcanic islands; the proverbial “ends of the earth”? Is there something about the smooth cool musculature under shining scales that challenges our primal fears? Do the bright eyes affixed to craggy shapes belie an unexpected intelligence; one that has enabled them to survive unfathomable time. Reptiles have seen countless other life forms come and go. Maybe we sense in their knowing smile that they are patiently awaiting their time to rule again.
